Clearing out my hotmail inbox again, TFU could have equally stood for "totally fucking underrated", died before making the 3rd album and what could have been a great collaborative project with Sean Ingram (the name of which escapes me at the moment but I think it was 'the american spectator').
TFU were way more experimental than most of the 'metalcore' bands at the time (before that term was an insult) and although I despise organized religion, the christian scene was more influential than it'll ever be given credit for.
When Sacramento seemed like the hub of all things musically fulfilling (and not the apparently tiny area it is), Eric Stenman was recording and producing countless bands of merit, and emerging from the not so ace sXe band Focal Point came TFU, tracks would often blur into absolute, psychotic noise, something between Zao and Namanax maybe if you want a lazy description. 2nd album was a studio only deal, all about the electronics and hugely distorted guitars, love it... found this: "Throwing A Wrench In The American Music Machine":

of course, they then went on to form Demon Hunter.. but the graphic design side of what the brothers do is sick.
